Product Description

Quartz Restoration and Repair Kit

The Rockstar Quartz Restoration System is the most consistent and reliable way to re-texture an engineered stone countertop. Engineered stone is typically difficult to repair since any grinding or polishing removes the texture as well as the scratches. Our system allows you to blend in the repaired area to replicate the original factory finish of the rest of the slab. In the first part of this process, traditional diamond tools (such as our 4 inch premium diamond pads) are used to remove any scratches or blemishes. Next, the Quartz Surface Repair compounds and pads are used in four steps. These items may be purchased as a complete kit or as separate components. The deluxe kit also includes a set of premium polishing pads. Detailed instructions are included with each kit.

Sorry, but we are unable to accept returns of the compounds.

Please note:

The procedure shown on our video was for the original Engineered Stones that used larger particulate quartz in a ratio of 93% quartz to 7% resin. These slabs have a much more pronounced texture that requires the very aggressive #1 compound.  Some of the newer smaller particulate (solid colored) slabs have a different ratio of stone to resin and require different tools/pads to take out scratches and blemishes. (we have seen the best results with silicone carbide sandpaper and Scotch-Brite™ pads). In either case you MUST get the repaired area to match the color and shine of the surrounding area. Once you have achieved this you would go to the compounds to texture. The only difference is the #1 compound is not necessary for the small grain stone.

  1. Quartz Surface Polish Repair 4 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Feb 2015

We restored the surface finish on a darker quartz. (Emperador) We ended up having to omit the 3000 grit step in order to more closely match the original luster. 3000 brought the luster of the stone up higher than the factory finish. The four step restoration process worked as advertised bringing the resin down lower than the stone to more closely match the factory finish of the quartz. This process took about 2 hours on a 2' x 2' section.

  2. Best system yet. 5 Star Review

    Hi All,

Just a quick note about the quartz repair kit.

It worked great and salvaged a 3 slab job.

We will also ONLY buy the white polishing pad from now on. “0” color residue!

Granted I did not have to work with the large particulates but I still had to start with 400g to remove several large scratches.

I finished with #2 compound. 2 hours start to finish.

    Thanks,

    Matt@Allcove
